Named as one of the top hospital CFOs by Becker’s Hospital Review, Paul Generale has held many high-level positions within the CHRISTUS Health system. Paul Generale began his career over two decades ago as a project manager at CHRISTUS St. John Hospital in Houston, where he ultimately became the chief operating and financial officer, a position that he held for five years.

Subsequently, Mr. Generale transitioned to a role as the system senior director of business and finance at CHRISTUS Health Information Technology in Dallas. After serving briefly in that capacity, he relocated to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he functioned as the regional chief financial officer and a vice president at CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center.

In 2011, Paul Generale returned to Dallas County to assume the role of senior vice president of financial operations and ambulatory services at the headquarters of CHRISTUS Health. He now serves as the executive vice president and chief strategy and network officer. As such, he oversees the Catholic health system’s ambulatory services, new ventures, health plans, and acquisitions, among other areas.

A fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Mr. Generale received his MBA in health care administration from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
